2008′s Remixes

If we are talking about remixes in 2008; we are talking about Danger. Whilst the rest of the Ed Banger and Ekleroshock roster are spending their time partying, Danger keeps putting out great records and remixes. The result; he pretty much dominates my best remixes of 2008 list.

1. SebastiĆ©n Tellier – Divine (Danger Remix)
Most remixes turn a good song into a better song (at least that is the idea), but here Danger turns an awful French song into a classic. Still can’t understand the “Hot Chip” fixation with prefixing a great song with an awful intro, but that’s the French for you.

2. Black Kids – I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You (Twelves Remix)
The first time I heard this song, I thought it was the album version of “INGTYBHTDWY”. It wasn’t, but it should have been.

3. Estelle – American Boy (Danger Remix)
Still can’t get this song in good quality, but it’s clearly amazing. The build up melts brilliantly into the synth-heavy chorus.

4. Radiohead – Reckonerz (Amplive Remix)
Ok, so not really 2008, but Radiohead released “In Rainbows” on 1st January so we can sort of count this! Radiohead with rap? They could get here just for imagination, but it really works.

5. Bloc Party – Mercury (Telemitry Remix)
Telemitry turns the average (at best) “Mercury” into a proper dance song, showing Bloc Party how to do it, and telling them to stick to their guitars next time.

6. MGMT vs Daft Punk – One More Time To Pretend (Immuzikation Remix)
MGMT + Daft Punk. I really don’t need to say anything else.

7. MGMT – Electric Feel (Justice Remix)
Completely signature Justice bass over one of the singles of the year.
