Frankmusik – Savior of Pop Music
Bleeding hell! I’m turning the safesearch option back on google images… Usually, when I am looking for a photo of an artist for a post on google images, I get a couple of boring “action” shots. Search for London’s new chart hope “Frankmusik” and… well… just don’t. There is nudity, and it’s actually him, unfortunately.
Anyway, Frankmusik, who I first posted about back in August, is another lucky young thing picked by the BBC on their “Sounds for 2009 Longlist“. He is quite similar to Mika in many ways – in that Mika was classically trained, Frankmusik is electro trained (having released a string of acclaimed remixes) , if Mika was a dead cert to be big, so is Frankmusik, but whereas Mika’s music was more painful than being bottled by a magnum full of nails and was to music what pot noodles are to food; absolute shit, Frankmusik is a sensation. The reason why he is so impressive is that he has managed to craft a set of songs that almost guarantee major success in 2009, and, in doing so, has not had to compromise his artistry or integrity. Take that, Mika.
