Franz Ferdinand Release New Album

Just a quick one (this is because applying for a provisional driving licence is quite possibly the most pointlessly complicated procedure in the world) to keep you up to date with the new Franz Ferdinand album, due to be released on January 26th. Yes, as in this month! I can barely believe it either… After the last album being crucified by the press (although I secretly quite liked it) and rumours of hiatuses, feuds and the album being put off, we seemed to have another “Chinese Democracy” in the making… But, no! Pints are being thrown in the air in sweaty black boxes with sticky floors everywhere, “Take Me Out” is hitting the floor again, and Franz Ferdinand are back with an album that, from what I’ve read, is their best yet, and, from what I’ve heard, really is their best yet; an exciting blend of disco-funk and pop-rock. Sounds like a hit. Decide for yourself with two tracks from the album (please don’t hurt me Web Sheriff):

Download mp3: Franz Ferdinand – Twilight Omens (mp3 removed)

Download mp3: Franz Ferdinand – What She Came For (Live)

Don’t be put off that the second is a live version, it’s an “official” bootleg and is really great quality. The audience noise actually adds to the recording. Anyway, I’m off to persuade my elderly neighbours to sign a picture saying that it actually is me. As if I am a national danger or something. I hate the DVLA.

Animal Collective review coming. I can tell you this much: it’s going to be positive!

Sweet! Thanks for the downloads, can’t wait for the album release!

  • Phil Says:

No problem Ian, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is foolish enough to admit loving Franz Ferdinand.

Web Sheriff, I took down "Twilight Omens" but as the other song is live & available for free on a number of official sites, I assumed it would be OK. Please let me know if it is not.
