Mercury Award Winner Returns With New Album!

Quite typically, every period where I am receiving a lot of great music that I want to post, something technically goes wrong or I become swamped in work. This time, both happened. First, my host went awol (and now the new one won’t aggregate with hypem.com) and I have unreal amounts of work going at the moment, mainly for some European Youth Parliament thing. All this conspires to mean that I am having to cut down on the writing.

Keeping it short then, Antony & The Johnson’s new album “The Crying Light” has been a huge relief for me in these past weeks shut up in my room struggling with yet another chemistry paper. Of course, Antony’s voice is both exceptional and, for me at least, one of the album’s greatest strengths, but it is also exceptionally polarising; some people are going to hate it. If getting melodramatically emotional sounds like the thing for you, then don’t make the mistake of passing over this album; it’s breathtaking.
