Err… So I May Have Forgotten One Or Two Things
Soooo, not only did I forget to mention that my quite revolutionary review of Bat For Lashes is now up at my favourite music blog (PMA) and you, my loyal readers, can read it here and not feel like I am blog cheating on you. The first guy that commented said that it was “One of the very best reviews” he had ever read on PMA. Why stop there? Is it the best review on PMA? Is it the best review ever? The best piece of feature writing this year? Is the Nobel Prize for Literature too much of a stretch? Ok… it’s just a bit average really and I misspelled “heartwrenchingly” and now can’t even correct it because it’s all gone to press. Oh shit. There goes my Nobel Prize.
Also, I completely forgot to post the Mr Vega remix of Phoenix’s “1901″ yesterday. Not read it yet? Check it out below, but not before you download Mr Vega’s hectic remix of the original. I really haven’t given that guy enough love on the blog, considering I really love so many of his re-interpretations, so this mention is well overdue.

how amazing is that bat for lashes album? i just read your review on “pretty much amazing” and thought you were totally fucking spot on. i’ve been telling people that it’s kind of like ‘ok computer’ in some ways. the complexity and depth of it, mixed with the self-discovery and questioning of surroundings. it’s like ‘ok computer’ on the rag.

It’s so strange that you should say that, because I actually was thinking of describing her as “the female version of Radiohead”, but just couldn’t fit it in anywhere! You’re completely right though Sarah, it’s one of those albums that you can’t just let wash over you… you have to put some effort in, like with “OK Computer”, but it’s so worth it! Glad you enjoyed the album.
