Kasabian – New Single
I’ve never fully understood those who believe Kasabian to be a second rate version of Oasis; both of the albums they have released have been thoroughly unconventional in parts and constantly artistic throughout, quite unlike the chugging power chords of Oasis.
Their newest single, “Fire”, will take a lot of their doubters by surprise. It starts off slowly, sounding like a woozy homage to the Beatles. At this point, doubters will be rubbing their hands with glee and planning their next keyboard assault on the band. Then, as quite nicely illustrated above, the song explodes into one of the finest singles I have heard all year, romping along on on the back of monstrous drums and Serge’s incredible rhythm guitar.

killer tune, nothing like oasis. but, chugging “power” chords of oasis? hardly man, their sound is BLARING layers of open chords.. hence the beatles, neil young, who, pistols (fine), influence. sure bonehead played power chords on the first three records but noel shoved him so far down in the mix of his you can’t even tell it’s there.. Kasabian kick oasis’ ass when it comes mastery of power chords
