Miike Snow – Why Choose?
According to the bits and pieces of information that have been floating around on the internet with increasing regularity in the past few weeks, Miike Snow are a semi-anonymous group of super producers who were responsible for Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and have now turned their hand at creating their own album.
Their debut album is not hitting stores until June 9th, so I haven’t heard a wealth of their original songs, but their status as producers has attracted remixes from some of the best – including the indomitable Punks Jump Up and Ed Banger’s DJ Mehdi. I was spinning the Punks Jump Up remix a while ago, but it’s Mehdi’s remix of “Burial” that I just can’t get enough of right now. It’s almost like they can’t decide whether they want to write a pop or dance song. And… well, that suits me just fine, because I can’t decide between the two most of the time anyway.
