Maybe You Will, Maybe You Won’t
It’s incredible to think that I haven’t posted in just over a week… but it’s just a reflection of how busy I am with uni applications and exams on top of the all the usual stuff. Really sorry about it, I promise that I’ll be back to posting regularly very soon! The worst thing about this situation is that spare time is so rare that I haven’t had enough time to look for new music, and the amount of music that I’m excited about has really dropped as a result. Consequently, I’ve been revisiting a lot of older songs, and one of them is Baz Luhrmann’s “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)”… It’s not really a song, more of a pseudo-philosophical statement, but its uncomplicated and logical approach to life is hard not to resonate with or be inspired by. And whilst good new music is hard to come by, take my advice and give it a good few listens – more than just a form of nostalgia, “a way of painting over the bad parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth”.
