Hervé // Ghetto Bass 2
Though our naive formative days saw us carting out the fake dance music that littered hypem.com with a regularity that would convince you that our musical environs didn’t travel beyond those “Popular” pages, within the past year music tastes have definitely matured, though this definitely wasn’t a conscious decision. That said, whilst we’d all like to pretend like we’re now “intellectually above” dance music , when its as perfectly put-together as Hervé’s newest mix CD “Ghetto Bass 2”, all is quickly forgotten in a flurry of infectious house more pelvis-spasm-inducing than myocardial infarction.
You’ll have to forget that pretentiousness as well, because “Ghetto Bass 2” is far, far removed from a community that pretends to know about dance music just to divert some fleeting attention. Hervé is the real deal, and though names like Passion Pit do appear occasionally, Hervé’s certainly not just tagged them on so that some part-time blogs will post about him. It’s just… unbelievably good. Your 12 page dossier evaluating The National’s new album can wait until tomorrow; embarrassing dance moves, now!
You can purchase the whole 2CD mix here. Couple of highlights below:
The Count & Sinden -Elephant 1234 (Reset! Remix) by RESET!
Passion Pit- Little Secrets (JACK BEATS REMIX) 192* by Jack Beats
Hervé – Blaze It – Reset! Remix by RESET!
And when I said a couple, I did mean three. Hervé’s “Blaze It” single will also be making an appearance at the start of June.
