[New] Wild Nothing – Golden Haze EP & European Tour
I’m not going to lie, I feel pretty guilty about leaving for two weeks. It’s not like I don’t feel like I have a right to backpack around Europe to my heart’s content desperately trying to stay financially solvent, alive, and out of foreign prison (all three catastrophes narrowly averted), it’s just that in these particular two weeks a regrettable amount of incredible music came out.
This is the first in a series of apologetic posts, but I have to start with Wild Nothing, if only because debut album “Gemini” is fast becoming one of my favourite albums of the year. Jack Tatum and his new band-mates aren’t content with just the one genre-starting record of hazy pop melodies though, and so are releasing the “Golden Haze” EP on 5th October. Judging by the fact that the beautifully wistful lead track is being given away for free, they must be aiming for world domination, but when lazy desperation sounds this good, I’m content to just let them have it.

No Liverpool date? Je ne suis pas happy. If I hadn’t spent all my money trying to keep my friends out of prison I’d book them myself. But I can’t. So if you’re reading this and are from Liverpool; looks like the mantle falls to you (I promise I’ll go).
