Not Many Experts

Debukas’ slow-burning “Golden Mind” is the best introduction to his “Pleasure Patterns” EP, out yesterday. The Glasweigan has been compared to similarly Pitchfork-adored John Talabot, but Debukas brings a deeper, more satisfying edge to his productions. “Golden Mind”, in particular is wonderfully restrained, until the slippery high end eventually laid behind the chorus brings the song to an understated euphoric climax. Just like a muted orgasm, and not much less enjoyable.
