Julio Bashmore // Au Seve

If you’ve yet to get yourself acquainted with Julio Bashmore, you are officially missing out on one of the main reasons why the UK is such a good place to be right now. We might not have a monopoly on maudlin indie rock or global imperial subjugation anymore, but one thing that Britain is leading the field in is inventive, addictive bass music – and nobody does it finer that Julio. If there’s anything the EDL should be getting proud about, it’s him (we’d rather they didn’t, though).

New track “Au Seve” surfaced last night, very modestly announcing his foray into music labels – this will be the first release on his Broadwalk Records. I don’t think it’s getting too overexcited to describe it as the perfect example of why Bashmore is becoming increasingly peerless these days; it’s deep, but bouncy and completely infectious. He definitely knows what he’s doing.
